Remarks / Description: On Goudier Island, a small rocky island in a sheltered harbour on the west coast of Wiencke Island; established February 1944. Designated as Historic Site and Monument No 61 at the XIX ATCM in 1995. Base repaired and cleaned up by five-man team in February 1996. Since then the station has been opened for visitors and further work carried out during each summer season. The British Antarctic Survey has undertaken the conservation work with the guidance of the United Kingdom Heritage Trust and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The operation of Port Lockroy was handed over to the UK Antarctic Heritage in July 2006.

Remarks / Description: On north coast of Laurie Island; established January 1946 and evacuated in March 1947. Occasionally used by other national operators as a field refuge. A demolition feasibility study was undertaken at Cape Geddes in March 2007. The study concluded that the site is environmentally sensitive and that demolition could not be undertaken during the austral summer without resulting in greater environmental impact than leaving it in situ.

Emergency repair work undertaken by two-man team during January 2003. A survey of the site was undertaken as part of a wider heritage survey during the 2006/07 austral summer.

Remarks / Description: On opposite side of Stella Creek to Ukrainian Vernadsky Research Station. Established in 1947 on the site of the 1937/38 British Graham Land Expedition hut. In view of close proximity (0.75 km) to Vernadsky station it is not regarded as an emergency refuge and so does not hold food and fuel stock. Designated as Historic Site and Monument No 62 at the XIX ATCM in 1995. A survey of the site was undertaken as part of a wider heritage survey during the 2006/07 austral summer.

Operational Information - National Expeditions - Military
Military personnel in expeditions: HMS Scott - Ocean Survey Vessel (OSV) and Ice Patrol Ship (Royal Navy) Dead weight 13500 tonnes. Up to 50 Officers and Crew including 1 Doctor.
Number and Type of Armaments possessed by personnel: Military equipment only. Sundry small arms.
Number and Type of Armaments of ships and aircraft: HMS Scott has 2 unarmed 6.5m JETPAC RIBs on-board, these are used as rescue boats and logistical support for field operations for the FCO and the British Antarctic Survey. HMS Scott does not carry any helicopters and has no capability to embark helicopters. HMS Scott is capable of conducting winch transfers only.
Information and Location of Military Equipment in the AT Area: HMS Scott operated for 1 work period South of 60˚ latitude between February - March 2011. Areas visited included the Bransfield Strait and the South Shetland Islands and western side of the Peninsula. HMS Scott provided charting and hydrographic survey work and logistical support for BAS Science programmes, which this season included reviews of ASPAs, Historical bases follow-up work and clean up operations of some base sites. This ship also undertook visits to tourist areas as prioritised by the Hydrographic Committee of Antarctic (HCA) and the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO).
